SUMMARY OF PUBLICATIONS
Seven
articles, one monograph of original research in refereed journals 1985-2002.
One article, a new theory of a Jane Austen historical source, is being
considered for a book of essays by eminent scholars. Most articles concern
politeness and the individual’s relationship to nature; all analyze
everyday speech in contexts applicable to entertainment industry, business,
and non-profits today.
One book, an edition of a late Renaissance English poet,
2004.
One archaeological guide for students, edited for a
state historical site and monument; to be completed 2005.
Four book reviews on books about or by Jane Austen published
between 1997 and 2000.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Wrote
$100,000 grant proposal, pending, for GSS in Dacca, Bangladesh, to help
fund 750 primary schools for impoverished children and capacity-building
project for impoverished and homeless adults, mostly women, to Public
Welfare Foundation, November 2004.
Wrote successful grant proposal: New van and maintenance for Heart of
Georgia Humane Society to PetSmart, Inc. Foundation, February 2004.
Recruited new members to Chamber of Commerce, April-May 2004.
Serve on two committees, Pilot Club International, Milledgeville, Georgia,
March 2004.
Served as Macon PALS (People Advocating Leadership and Service) Advisory
Committee Member and Site director for after-school tutoring program,

Southeast-wide grant proposal involving Macon Concert Association, March

Founded and served as first Regional Coordinator, JASNA -Alabama Region

a Chilton County, Alabama, U.S.A., citizens' action group against a
landfill toxic waste, summer 1996-spring 2000. Presented testimony in
