This latest project follows the highly successful premiers of Bernee in January and Ought in March at the Palace in front of enthusiastic Middle Tennessee audiences. Budd is the story of a high school English teacher experiencing a mid-life crisis melt-down, with a comical journey that takes him through therapy, uncovering the mishaps of his past and the calamities of his present, all in an attempt to forge new possibilities for his future. Budd stars D.R. Smith, a “budding” prodigy of the Tennessee arts community along with a cast of many fine actors and just average citizens from the area. “Budd makes me laugh whenever I think about it, when I produced it and even when I edited it, which usually turns me into a real sour puss,” says Director Tracy Cring from her home in Hendersonville. This latest cinema feature is the third in a series of movies produced by the Extra/Ordinary Film Project, with the aspiration of making twelve feature length films in twelve months. “So far, we’re right on target and having the time of our lives doing it,” says Jon Russell Cring, co-founder of the organization. Budd is a wacky comedy suitable for adults and young people fourteen and over. For more information, please contact Extra/Ordinary Films at (615) 715-1578.
