Sabrina,

Please don't leave the forum. You do have alot to offer. Just because people may not always agree with you does'nt mean we WANT you to leave. If you DO decide to leave please know that there are people that do CARE about you as a person. Acting is NOT our EVERYTHING in life. People are FAR more important.

I have emailed Chrisjo and the people that own this site started it because they care about people FIRST. This is why the site is so inexpensive in the first place. They wanted to HEL
P people and in fact go out of their way to do so.

lynna, I am very confused with myself.  I was so heated up yesterday for some reason, I don't know.  I wake up okay one day and completely horrible the next, as though I only remember the bad things in my life.  I guess this week was like that.  I cry a lot and I'm just so distraught and worried and depressed and angry and confused about life and where I'm heading.  FYI, I am very involved and dedicated to publishing, and I'm proud that someone notices.  My sister and mother write as well, and all my mother has time for is reading my elder sister's work, and then dealing with the baby, and then herself during some free time; and I'm left alone wondering when I'll be noticed again. My eyes are burning right now with tears as I write this, which is why I write in the first place--it helps release any pain.

Anyway--

I don't even know about me and acting.  I am so diffident and self-conscious, but an ebb of a whisper in my head tells me that I have some skill and if I put my mind to it, I'll do it.  But that seems to get muted out with me debating with myself that I'm a loser and that my mother even doubts me. Whose mother doubts them?  I don't talk much to my family because I'm uncomfortable with them, so I know I'll be uncomfortable with strangers. I need help, but trust me, I'm not as clueless and helpless and useless a person as I may seem....

Sabrina,

Please talk to your mom and let her know how you feel. She may feel like she is the one not meeting YOUR needs. Often people will just sit back and suffer because we are scared. We do not want to upset someone. I can assure you even with a new baby and a very busy life your mom DOES care about and LOVE you.She is probably searching for a way to reach out to you as you are searching for a meaningful way to reach her.

Mother's day is coming quick. Why not write her a heartfelt letter? Trust me as a mom these things mean alot to us.As a mom we love our children so much and have a hard time when our children dont get that THEY are our world NOTHING is more important to a mom then her child.

I wanted to let you know I read your bio you have great taste in movies. Why dont you try to get some things going in our teen forum. Invite your friends.I will keep you in prayer and know things WILL get better.

You are very mature to understand that you might not be ready for acting at this point in your life. It takes so much self esteem. Work on these issues first then and only then if you are still interested go for it.

I want you to try this. I want you to wake up in the morning and SMILE and think positive thoughts. It is a blessing each day we are given and science has proven we do have the power to make ourselves feel better. I know it sounds silly but trust me on this. The next time you feel like crying think about someone out here that is praying for you. Think about the wonderful gift you have been given with your writing ability. Then SMILE. It WILL make you feel better and in turn others around you will also start to feel better.

I thank you, lynna, for your replies. They seem very heartfelt and of polite solicitude that is very much appreciated, but I don't understand how a complete stranger is being so nice to me...this has never happened to me before. Your kindness is not unwanted, only over-whelming.

Thank you, though

Sabrina,

Not only do I care about you but I have also talked to my husband about what you are going through. It is very important to talk to your mom. She may decide to get you some outside councel. This is not a bad thing and in no way means you are crazy. There are times in life were we need a little extra help and nothing is wrong with that.

Thank you for your kind comments. What can I say I am a mom of some wonderful children and hey I can't help myself I just love kids. I know how confusing and oh so trying it can be to be a teenager. You have highs and lows and they can be just minutes from each other. You drive yourself crazy because you need to figure out WHAT you WANT out of life NOW. Do not pressure yourself you are still very young and you have plenty of time to make goals for your life.

I am so happy you write. Maybe you should keep a journal and someday if you have children you can pull it out when YOUR kids say MOM you just dont get it. You can say THIS is HOW I felt at 14. It's funny that children always think we old folks are so out of it. Trust me we have been there and done that. The ups and downs you feel are normal.

I hope you have a great Mothers day with your mom. It's funny but every mothers day when my kids tell ME Happy mothers day my heart fills with such joy because I thank God for THEM. Children are a true gift.

Hi Sabrina,

Don't feel bad. There's alot's of actor and actress are not looking good.  But they have such a good characteristic.  I advice you not to be feeling bad.  Maybe one of this day you will meet the producer that will interested of you.

As for me, I can act.  But I prepare to be a writer. And I want the producer or director to help me to make a movie my story.

I believed they will come to me.  If they will read my blog.

Sabrina:

Pardon me for putting my two cents in. However, I want to tell you a few things. First, you are obviously very smart; it certainly shows in your writings. Second, you are fiesty! Another great attribute. You are young and apparently vibrant...all things you can work with.

Have you ever heard the saying "the camera don't lie?" I believe it's true, not only about looks, but about attitude. Your attitude is displayed more so than your acne. Human communication is 70% nonverbal. Work on having a positive attitude and I can assure everything in your life, including your acting career, will turn out so much better!

Now, let me ask you another question...Have you ever seen Oprah without makeup? Would you consider Whoopi Goldberg beautiful? How about Queen Latifah, is she 110 lbs.? Spike Lee isn't the most beautiful person on the planet either. I could go on and on...but I think you get the point. They all have one thing in common; they are good people with great attitudes.

I am brand new to acting, however this job is like any other, you have to work for anything you get. No one is going to feel sorry for you and hand you a leading role. You have to earn it. If you use the attributes you evidently have and improve a little along the way in those you don't you just might have a chance at success. No one can predict if you will ever make the big screen, but I can tell you this with certainty, you will have a much better chance if the people that meet you, like you. Your attitude is the most important acting attribute you can have, even more than a perfect hairstyle.

One more thing on attitude...I've heard it said that most actors get one part for every 25 auditions. While I don't know if that's right or not...I have to assume it is, since I am new to acting, as well. When I get nixed for a role, I am actually thrilled and excited! I then take the time to thank the casting director I contacted...the thanks is genuine. You know why? Because in my mind I'm thinking "This is FANTASTIC! Only 23 more no's before I get a YES!" I realize to some this may be like playing mind games on myself..and I guess I am, but it keeps me from thinking negatively about the declination and helps me stay positive. And yes, we all have to knock on a lot of doors before one of them finally opens. It's called paying your dues. Even Denzel Washington went through it.

I wish you only the best and say these things to offer whatever help, support and encouragement I can.

Respectfully,

Richard
