Description: Rising Phoenix, an independent film company based in Harrisburg, PA, will be holding auditions on Saturday June 9th, 2007.

The auditions will be for two projects that we are currently working on. First, the independent Sci-Fi series Dark Operations will be looking to fill positions for both recurring roles and extras for the 4 episodes slated to begin production this summer and second several performers and extras are needed for the suspense/horror film Pain Management.

Open auditions will run from 10am to 4pm in Camp Hill, PA. Sides will be available for review while waiting for your audition. Talent Type: For Dark Operations, we are looking for the following:

1 Female - 18 30 for an alien role. The role will require the performer to endure special effects make-up appliances for an extended period of time and some minor fight choreography. The ideal candidate will be approximately 5 4 or shorter and have some experience in either dance, gymnastics, mime/clown work, or contortionist work in order to produce some unusual movements for the character. The character is currently slated for appearances in two episodes.

 1 Male 30s 50s for a human role as a high-ranking military officer. The role will require the use of a straight razor for one scene and for the individual to be clean-shaven. A military hairstyle will also be called for. We will be looking for a strong performer for this scene who can create a commanding presence on screen. The character is currently slated for one episode.

3 Females or Males Age undetermined for roles as human soldiers/assassins. 2 of the roles have no lines but an involved fight scene that will require extensive choreography. 1 of the roles has lines, but requires only minor fight choreography. The characters are currently slated for one episode.

1 Male Age undetermined for role as a space pirate. The role involves some minor fight choreography and a nice dramatic scene. Depending on the look of the actor, special effects make-up may be required. The character is slated for one episode.

1 Male Mid to Late 20s for a role as a cocky fighter pilot who is a bit of a ladies man. The role is a comedy heavy character and will require excellent timing. One scene that the character is in requires the actor to strip down to his boxer shorts. Some physical comedy (falling over, etc.) will be needed as well as one involved fight choreography scene. The character is slated for 3 episodes at this time.

1 Female or Male Age undetermined for a role as a fighter pilot. The role will require an involved fight choreography scene that will likely have the performer being smashed through a stunt table.

11 Females or Males For roles as Marines. Ideally, we would like to have 6 of the 11 marines be female. Most of the characters will appear in at least 2 episodes with others appearing in 3 to 4. Some will have lines, others will not. All roles will involve interaction with large creatures that will get in a fire fight with the characters and a bar brawl scene.

** Various Extras both male and female - will also be needed for all 4 of the episodes currently slated for production some will have lines and many will be used in multiple scenes despite being unnamed.

For Pain Management we are looking for the following:

 1 Female 20 30 to play a kidnap/murder victim with a slender or athletic build. The role will require some special effects make-up.

1 Male 45 + in the role of the county coroner. The ability to understand medical terminology is a plus. Aging the actor with use of make-up is a possibility for this role.

1 Female 18 22 for the role of a junkie. The character is the sister of another character in the film that is already cast. As a result, we are looking for someone who has a resemblance to the other actress. The ideal candidate will be Caucasian, 5 6 or below with brunette hair and a slender build.

** Various Extras both male and female will also be needed for scenes throughout the film. As always, Rising Phoenix Productions is also open to accepting volunteers for other aspects of the project including make-up, costume design/construction, set design/construction, and other aspects of film making from pre to post production. I am a photographer in the San Diego Area. I have shot extensively for photojournalism, stock, and scenic photography, but I'd like to start building some experience and a portfolio for portrait photography as well. You can see some current examples of my work at my web site, http://www.photosofcalifornia.com, where I sell stock photography.

So, I'd like to offer some select people in the San Diego area--or who are willing to travel to the San Diego area--a free photo shoot. We are looking for male and female characters, entertainers, or models who are seeking to build a portfolio, but who do not have a lot of money to pay to have it done professionally. We do have some experience in the modeling and acting fields, so we are familiar with the criteria for this kind of photography.

We could meet somewhere in the San Diego area, and spend at least 4 hours doing a photo shoot. I would be accompanied by my second photographer, and she would also be shooting during the session. Each photo would be a high-resolution digital photo capable of being used for prints up to 16x20. Over the course of a 4-hour session, we would probably shoot several hundred photos, and you'd have all the originals--both good and bad--to choose pictures from to add or start your own portfolio. If you'd like to do a photo shoot with another person, such as an engagement-style photo shoot, that would be OK, too.

We would also consider shooting events, such as weddings, banquets, dinners, business parties, gallery openings, trade shows, as well.

Because we are seeking to expand our experience and portfolio in this field of photography, we are offering this to you for free. All it will cost you, if you are selected, is your time. In return, you'll get a bunch of free photos on DVD.
