Boston Casting Company is looking for people to play doctors, nurses, lawyers, court officers, police and, yes, older hippies in the film "Edge of Darkness," some of which will be filmed in and around Northampton this fall. The plot involves a Boston police officer (Gibson) who witnesses the brutal murder of his daughter. His investigation pulls him into a world of government cover-ups and corporate intrigue (Northampton).
The open call will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center on Atwood Drive. The company is hiring both union and non-union actors.

Auditions for upcoming short film. "Double Stuffed," a mockumentary(comedy), is the story of two African American male teenagers growing up in a predominantly white suburban area. They are what some may consider "Oreos", but more than anything they want to fit in with the Black Kids at their school. So, they go to extreme lengths to prove themselves worthy and "black enough."
Casting for:
Manray, 17, older brother of main character Kamal. Manray sort of acts as Kamal's coach throughout the whole ordeal. He's teaching him all the ways to walk, talk and act "black." The only problem is, he's pretty clueless himself.
Rob, 17, the leader of the Black Kids. Rob is everything Kamal and Manray want to be. He's cool, but most importantly he represents, to them, the epitome of what being black is all about. He doesn't hate them, or even dislike them, he just doesn't know them. Deep down, he probably wouldn't mind getting to know who they really are.

We are in search of actors and actresses of all ages for several upcoming short films that our company will be producing in Summer 2008. EFM has teamed up with a very established, Personal Manager in Los Angeles who has placed young and adult actors on many major TV series and in films.
EFM is now accepting submissions from interested parents who want to see if their kids have what he is looking for.
• We are looking for 12-19 old either fresh-faced, great-looking people (model looks, but not tall for age) or very geeky, even chubby/heavyset, with voice qualities that much the physical look.
• We are also seeking Middle Eastern types with no accent.
• We are looking for talent who has the look the charisma, personality and the voice quality to match.
NOTE: Heavy accents, whether it's foreign or Southern, don't work.....the ability to spend at least three months at a time in L.A. is also necessary.

SEEKING Actors, Models, Characters for Free Photo Shoot
I am a photographer in the San Diego Area. I have shot extensively for photojournalism, stock, and scenic photography, but I'd like to start building some experience and a portfolio for portrait photography as well. You can see some current examples of my work at my web site, http://www.photosofcalifornia.com, and www.istockphoto.com where I sell stock photography.
So, I'd like to offer some select people in the San Diego area--or who are willing to travel to the San Diego area--a free photo shoot. We are looking for male and female characters, entertainers, or models who are seeking to build a portfolio, but who do not have a lot of money to pay to have it done professionally. We do have some experience in the modeling and acting fields, so we are familiar with the criteria for this kind of photography.
We could meet somewhere in the San Diego area, and spend at least 4 hours doing a photo shoot. I would be accompanied by my second photographer, and she would also be shooting during the session. Each photo would be a high-resolution digital photo capable of being used for prints up to 16x20. Over the course of a 4-hour session, we would probably shoot several hundred photos, and you'd have all the originals--both good and bad--to choose pictures from to add or start your own portfolio. If you'd like to do a photo shoot with another person, such as an engagement-style photo shoot, or a family that would be OK, too.
We would also consider shooting events, such as weddings, banquets, dinners, business parties, gallery openings, trade shows, as well.
Because we are seeking to expand our experience and portfolio in this field of photography, we are offering this to you for free. All it will cost you, if you are selected, is your time. In return, you'll get a bunch of free photos on DVD.
